Saints Victorious in First Game!

I am very sorry it has taken so long for me to put up another post. Hurricane Gustav put me out of commision for a little while. I know there are a lot of fans out there who have been waiting for updates and I thank you for your patience.
Well let me start off by saying thankyou Reggie Bush. He looked sensational in his season opener. He had over one hundred and sixty all purpose yards and the game winning touchdown. I think we can expect more performances like this throughout the year.
The offense looked good but not great. I think this is because the Bucs are a good defensive team. Drew Brees had a great game and so did Jeremy Shockey. Pierre Thomas also looked solid filling in for Deuce Mcallister. Devery Henderson and David Patten each had long receptions for touchdowns. The on blemish of the day was the interception. Had Brees not been hit on the play Lance Moore would have had an easy reception that probably would have gone for a touchdown. That would have made the margin of victory eighteen instead of four.
The defense showed up for the Saints against the Bucs. Even without Mike Mekenzie the secondary played very well. Tracy Porter in particular did an outstanding job. The defensive line was also outstanding. Garcia had pressure in his face all day and even sustained an injury. I think this pressure also made it easier for the secondary. Vilma was solid at Linebacker and Fujita had the game winning play on a crucial fourth down conversion for the Bucs.
It looks like good things are in store for the Saints this year! Let me know what you think!

Smedley did you travel up to Indy with the team for evacuations? Do you expect to see Deuce in a bigger role next week or has Thomas made his case for his spot? Good to see the Saints report back up and running.

I actually did go up to Indy for a few days. Good weather up there. I ran into Reggie Miller and we went and had a few beers downtown. My next blog might be about the Deuce Mcallister, Pierre Thomas battle. I think that is an interesting situation.

This is the most informative Saints site i have found. Thanks so much Smedley for giving us the Saints 411! I can't believe Colston is out 4 weeks for a thumb injury. that is ridiculous.

I thought you and Reggie had a big falling out two years ago with the whole two v two tourney in Detroit? Anyway...Smedley whats your best Saints Fantasy team advice? I think you need to put some fantasy predictions up too.

oh no the saints are doomed. first i hear 4-6 weeks for marques colston...then i hear big hollis will NOT be returning at all this year. and to make matters worse, payton won't activate meachem this week despite the loss of colston. we will still destroy the redskins though.
